Corporate Tax Senior Manager
The Role
Barber McLelland is working in partnership with a leading firm of chartered accountants who are recruiting an experienced tax professional for the position of Corporate Tax Senior Manager.
The firm is a highly progressive accountancy practice within the region, boasting a fantastic client base. The business has an excellent working culture, coupled with high investment in staff well-being, development and ongoing training.
Duties and Responsibilities
The position is a key senior role within the firm, working on a variety of businesses ranging from large international to smaller, local owner managed businesses.
The role of Corporate Tax Senior Manager will undertake both corporation tax compliance and business tax planning work including the following:
- Oversee the corporation tax compliance function of the firm including development of processes, monitoring deadlines, payments / refunds, registers, ensuring claims and elections processed etc
- Review and sign off corporation tax computations prepared by others
- Prepare key tax issues reports for clients summarising key issues arising from their corporation tax computations
- Ensure corporation tax software and processes are followed, maintained and updated as required
- Be the main point of contact for our accounts and audit team to coordinate the preparation and review of corporation tax computations and returns.
In addition, the role of Corporate Tax Senior Manager will regularly advise on the full spectrum of business tax advice:
- International tax advice relating to international businesses coming to/operating in the UK or expanding overseas from the UK.
- Working with our award winning corporate finance team on
- Business sales and disposals
- Management buyouts
- Business sales to employee ownership trusts
- Due diligence for both UK and overseas buyers
- Tax efficient group structures, group restructuring
- Share incentives
- Provide adhoc tax advice to portfolio clients, and others clients, as and when required
Skills and Qualities
The Successful candidate will be CTA/CIOT or ATT qualified and will have a minimum of 5 years experience working for an Accountancy Practice, with experience developed within both advisory and compliance corporate tax services.
Salary Package
- £50,000 – £60,000 dependent upon experience
- Excellent benefits package
- 25 Days holiday plus stats
- Some hybrid working, but mainly office based
