Senior Manager – Route to Partnership
The Role
A leading firm of Independent Accountants based in Sheffield are looking to employ an ambitious and commercially astute qualified practice accountant for the role of Senior Manager.
This newly created position forms part of the firms succession planning and it is envisaged that the successful applicant will join as a Senior Manager with a view to taking up the role of Partnership in the near future.
The role will take on the management of a highly varied portfolio of clients, overseeing the delivery of accounting, audit and business advisory services.
As a key member of the firm’s senior management team, the role will also involve taking a lead on marketing and networking activities on behalf of the firm along with building a network of contacts within the local business community.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supporting the firm’s Partnership group, the role of Senior Manager will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries typically small to medium sized owner managed businesses, this will include:
- Managing the audit process from planning to completion
- Reviewing statutory and year end accounts
- Provide commercial business advice to clients, ensuring the delivery of high levels of service are achieved and within budget
- Manage, support and mentor staff members, this will include providing training and development opportunities
- Preparation of Statutory and Management Accounts
- Preparation of business plans and financial forecasting
- Preparation of clients annual budgets
- Preparation of Management Information
Skills and Qualities
The successful candidate will be ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent and will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of success in an accountancy practice environment across both audit and accounting engagements.
Additional relevant professional qualifications such as CTA or STEP would be advantageous.
As Senior Manager you should also be able to demonstrate leadership and business development skills, be commercially astute and have a strong technical audit and accounting knowledge.

Salary Package
The business are offering a highly competitive remuneration package, this includes –
- Starting salary circa £55,000 – £60,000
